text: The awards season hit full stride over the weekend as the Golden Globes gave top film honors to "Boyhood" and "The Grand Budapest Hotel," handed a lifetime achievement award to George Clooney, and recognized America's top television shows.

The Golden Globes sometimes are seen as indicators for the Academy Awards, the nominations for which are scheduled to be announced on Thursday.

"Boyhood" won the Golden Globe for Best Drama, Richard Linklater won for Best Director, and Patricia Arquette took the Best Supporting Actress award.

"The Grand Budapest Hotel" won for best musical or comedy film.

Clooney, in accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement, wore a Je Suis Charlie button in recognition of last week's terrorism attacks in Paris.

"We will not walk in fear," Clooney said. "We will not do it. Je suis Charlie."

The two conference title games will feature Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson, marking the first time three of the four teams in the games are quarterbacked by former Super Bowl champions, according to The Associated Press.

The winners of the conference title games will meet in the Super Bowl on Feb. 1 in Glendale, Arizona.

title: Screen Siren Anita Ekberg Dead at 83

text: Anita Ekberg, best known for her role in "La Dolce Vita," has died at the age of 83.

Ekberg's lawyer, Patrizia Ubaldi, told The Associated Press that she died Sunday morning in Rome after several illnesses. She was most recently hospitalized after Christmas.

In her last days, Ekberg was saddened by the illnesses and her advancing age, Ubaldi told the AP.
