title: Not Quite ‘Eaten Alive’

text: After an outpouring of disappointment from viewers that expected to see naturalist Paul Rosolie get "Eaten Alive" by an 18-foot anaconda on Discovery Channel's highly anticipated special, the network has released a statement regarding the feat being cut short.

The two-hour Monday night event took the audience 100 miles deep into the Amazon and when Rosalie thought his arm was going to break, his team rushed in to free him before he was eaten.

Viewers were not happy.

“Paul created this challenge to get maximum attention for one of the most beautiful and threatened parts of the world, the Amazon Rainforest and its wildlife. He went to great lengths to send this message and it was his absolute intention to be eaten alive," Discovery said in a statement to ABC.

title: Royals Hit New York

text: Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, arrived stateside for a quick visit to New York to attend conservation fundraisers.

While William jetted down to Washington (on a commercial flight) for an afternoon meeting with President Obama, Kate met with the first lady of New York City, Chirlaine McCray, as they visited a youth center in Harlem.

Though she is technically the Duchess of Cambridge and not a princess, the children at the recreation center got slightly confused and thought that they were getting a visit from Elsa, the princess from the movie “Frozen.”

title: Remembering John Lennon

text: A different kind of British royalty has also been trending as Monday marked the 34th anniversary of John Lennon's death.

Lennon was fatally shot outside his Manhattan apartment building Dec. 8, 1980, by crazed fan Mark David Chapman.

During an interview with British television host Jonathan Ross, fellow founding Beatle member Paul McCartney reflected on the moment he found out that his friend had been killed.

"It was just so horrific, you couldn't take it in. I couldn't take it in. I just for days couldn’t think that he was gone," McCartney said.

title: Swastika Gift Wrap Pulled From Shelves

text: Wrapping paper that contains a swastika pattern in the trim is being recalled from stores nationwide after an outraged California shopper noticed the symbol, closely associated with the Nazis and the Holocaust.

The paper, adorned with two shades of blue and a silver shade, carries a Hallmark licensing tag. Hallmark did not return calls to ABC News for comment.

"We're in the process of removing the product from our stores," Walgreens spokesman Phil Caruso told ABC News, adding that the company has initiated a process to prevent customers from purchasing the gift wrap at registers.
