The 2013 Emmy Awards have come and gone, and there was a general shrug as some of the usual suspects made off with their statues, and the nation moved on. But "Grey's Anatomy" star Ellen Pompeo isn't keeping quiet, saying she was "really disappointed" with the telecast, The Associated Press reports.
"I didn't see any diversity in the Emmys at all. The Emmys felt so dated to me," she said in an interview Monday. "That dance number was embarrassing. Did you see one person of color in that dance number?"

Break out your Gnarls Barkley record because its 2006 all over again.
Staff aboard a Qantas Boeing 747 airliner in Australia discovered an 8-inch Mandarin rat snake aboard a Tokyo-bound plane, the airline said in a statement Monday. The poor passengers were grounded overnight but that's probably better than listening to people shout Samuel L. Jackson's catchphrase from the '06 classic over and over again.

R&B star Chris Brown is mouthing off again, and this time he's kinda taking down the king of hip-hop. In an interview in the October issue of Jet magazine, the "Forever" singer brings up a dark period from Blue Ivy's dad's past.
"No disrespect, because I'm a fan, but nobody brings up the fact that he stabbed somebody and sold drugs," Brown said
Brown was referring to Jay-Z's guilty plea in the 1999 stabbing of record producer Lance "Un" Rivera.

Benched! The Cornell University lacrosse team is in it deep after a hazing incident in which players allegedly forced underclassmen to be tied together and participate in a keg race, and "drink a large amount of alcohol (beer) in a competition against other team members," according to a statement on the Ivy League university's website. They were also made to do menial tasks and chores, all of which violate Cornell's anti-hazing policy. Now, all fall 2013 competitions have been canceled.
Bashar al-Assad Meets Walter White
The New Yorker
In what is becoming a monthly tradition, The New Yorker magazine has again caused controversy with a clever cover. This time? Embattled Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad is seen in a chemical lab with meth-cooking "Breaking Bad" lead Walter White. Assad might also have a questionable moral compass, but The Social Climber will take the tortured anguish of White's TV meth-cooking partner Jesse Pinkman any day.
