In Lexington, Kentucky, hip-hop star Drake introduced Wildcats coach John Calipari to thunderous applause, then air balled a 3-pointer while going through warm-ups with the team.

At Texas Tech, head coach Tubby Smith rode a motorcycle onto the court in style - only to wipe out as he drove toward the basket.

The season kicks off November 14.

text: Fans are still buzzing online about how far the team made it this season.

One superfan is actor Paul Rudd, who said he's throwing a house party to celebrate.

"I'm gonna be partying at my mom's house ... party at my mom's. She's out of town. I got a keg, it's gonna be sweet," he told ABC affiliate KMBC in Kansas City after the Royals won 2-1 Wednesday, clinching the American League pennant over the Baltimore Orioles.

"Five dollar cover," he said.

Rudd is a longtime Kansas City sports fan. His family moved to Overland Park, Kansas when he was 10, and he attended high school and college in Kansas. The “Anchorman” actor was on the field at Kauffman Stadium after the Royals’ victory Wednesday, watching the trophy presentation ceremony.

The company also said Apple Pay will launch on Monday, allowing customers with an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus pay for anything with the tap of their smartphone, linked to users' credit card information.

There is still no official release date for the Apple Watch, which was introduced at another event last month.
