Movie and Television Actor James Garner Dies at 86

Best known as gambler Bret Maverick in the 1950s Western “Maverick” and as private investigator Jim Rockford in the “The Rockford Files,” James Garner died in his Los Angeles home on Saturday night at the age of 86.
The actor, who reportedly died of natural causes, appeared in more than 50 films and earned an Academy Award nomination for the 1995 romantic comedy “Murphy’s Romance.”

When Rory Mcllroy won the British Open on Sunday at Royal Liverpool, his family had a lot to celebrate. Not only did the golfer walk away with $1.66 million in prize money, but his father, who had previously bet on his son winning, cashed in as well.
Ladbrokes, an online betting site, tweeted on Sunday, “CONGRATULATIONS RORY: We’re paying out 180K to Rory’s dad and pals. They’ll be some party at the McIlroy’s tonight!”
The WWE Gets Backlash After Referencing Malaysia Airlines Flight 17
On Sunday night’s WWE’s “Battleground” show, wrestling character Lana, manager of Bulgarian wrestler Alexander Rusev, referenced “recent current events” during a speech about how Russia is better than the United States.
Viewers conveyed their disappointment on social media, tweeting that the stunt was in bad taste and that the WWE had gone too far.
'Patriot’ Actress Skye McCole dies at 21

Skye McCole Bartusiak reportedly died in her Houston home on Sunday. Best known for her role as Mel Gibson’s daughter in “The Patriot,” Bartusiak reportedly was preparing to produce and direct her first feature film.
A cause of death has not yet been determined by investigators.
