Variety reported that the former Third Rock From The Sun child star is very interested in the role and though formal contract negotiations are not believed to have started, both Stone and Gordon-Levitt want it to happen.

Stone's film comes after he acquired the rights to the book that Snowden's attorney, Antoly Kucherena, wrote about the former NSA contracter's efforts to release classified documents.
