quicklist: 3title: Jaime Herrera Beutler Will Vote on Syriatext: U.S. Representative Jaime Herrera Beutler has made plans to travel to Washington, D.C. to vote on President Obama's request for authorization of military force in Syria, according to her website.

The Washington state congresswoman has been caring for her newborn daughter, who was born prematurely in July. The infant was born at just 28 weeks and survived a usually fatal medical condition called Potter's syndrome, where a lack of amniotic fluid impairs lung and kidney development, according to The Oregonian.

Beutler's daughter, named Abigail, is currently being cared for at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital in Palo Alto, Calif., and "her doctors are happy with her progress and optimistic about her future," her website said.

Beutler said while it is not possible for her to resume a full congressional schedule until after her daughter is brought home, she plans to "travel back and forth from the hospital to Washington, D.C. to participate in critical votes."
