— -- PITTSBURGH --? Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell should enter the NFL MVP conversation after producing a record pace over the past 10 games, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said Wednesday.

"I put my vote for [No.] 2-6 any day," Roethlisberger said from his locker.

After rushing for a franchise-record 236 yards Sunday at Buffalo, Bell is averaging 161.6 yards from scrimmage per game, which over a full 16 games would shatter? Chris Johnson's NFL single-season total yards record of 2,509. Bell averages 128.5 scrimmage yards per game for his career, which is the most in NFL history for players with a minimum of 40 games.

Bell missed the first three games of the season with a suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy, but he's making up for lost time with seven touchdowns in his past five games.

Quarterbacks Tom Brady, Matthew Stafford, Derek Carr and Matt Ryan are jockeying for MVP positioning. Bell and Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott are carrying their weight, too.

For Bell, the Week 14 AFC Offensive Player of the Week, 118 carries over the past four games has resulted in four straight wins for Pittsburgh.

Bengals cornerback? Adam Jones?calls Bell "by far" the league's best tailback.

"He can do it all," Jones said. "He can catch the ball out of the backfield. ... He can run you over. He can make you miss."
