— -- TAMPA, Fla. -- Jason Licht will be the new general manager of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to league sources.

Licht will sign a four-year contract with a team option that puts his deal in line with new coach Lovie Smith.

Licht is replacing Mark Dominik, who was fired after the Buccaneers went 4-12 this season.

Licht, 42, spent the last two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals. He carried the title of director of player personnel in 2012 before being promoted to vice president of player personnel in '13. Licht previously worked for the Dolphins, Panthers, Patriots and Eagles.

In Tampa Bay, Licht will not have final say over the 53-man roster. Smith had a final-say clause written into his contract. But Smith has said he looks forward to working closely with the new general manager.

The news of Licht's hiring was earlier reported by Fox Sports.
