Cubs to land OF Dexter Fowler

— -- The Chicago Cubs are on the verge of acquiring outfielder Dexter Fowler from the Houston Astros, according to sources.

Fowler, 28, hit .276 with eight home runs, 35 RBIs and 11 stolen bases in 2014, his only season with Houston.

Fowler previously played with the Colorado Rockies after debuting in the majors in 2008.
