— -- Here's the doggone honest truth about how the Detroit Lions' tight end Joseph Fauria sprained his ankle: He was chasing his puppy, Lil Rufio, to try and stop him from urinating in the house.

In a video posted to the Lions' website on Monday, Fauria smiled as he alluded to the fact that his Pomeranian/Husky mix "kind of did something bad" and then ran away from him.

Fauria said he move a little faster than usual down the stairs, trying to catch up with Lil' Rufio, but missed the bottom two steps.

"My carpet goes to hardwood and I was wearing socks and just put all my weight in my left foot," Fauria said. "It was kind of an agonizing pain."

It wasn't immediately clear how long Fauria would be sidelined, but hard to stay mad at a little guy who looks like this:
