Heat honor Wade

The Heat played a tribute video for Dwyane Wade, and the guard showed his appreciation for his cheering fans.

Wade left his mark on Miami

Three NBA championships. A 2006 NBA Finals MVP. A 12-time All-Star. Oh, and the? Miami Heat's all-time leading scorer. Dwyane Wade, who played his first 13 NBA seasons (2003-2016) with the Heat, returns to American Airlines Arena as a member of the Chicago Bulls.

His presence, not surprisingly, is inescapable inside the arena.

A change has arrived

"For 13 years I've been on one side of the arena and heard my name called last as a member of the Miami Heat. Tonight it's not that." -- Dwyane Wade, who added that nothing has been routine for him today, even with the chance to sleep in his bed in his Miami home.

Keeping old friends close

After shootaround,? Udonis Haslem?spoke extensively about facing Dwyane Wade, who was his teammate for the first 13 years of his career: "We're going to compete," Haslem said. "However I've got to get it done. It could be taking a charge. It could be going up to block. Whatever the situation may be. I won't foul him as hard as I'd foul somebody else."

Later asked about Haslem's pledge to avoid the hard foul, Wade said: "I don't believe that for one second." Wade did say he hopes Haslem, who has played in only one game this season, gets some playing time and gets switched onto him defensively at some point.
