Belgium Defeats USA 2-1, Americans Eliminated From World Cup

The United States had a the chance this afternoon to move into the quarterfinals of the World Cup for the first time since 2002 -- and just the third time in team history -- if it defeated Belgium.

It did not.

Instead, the Americans put on a valiant effort, losing 2-1 in extra time.
