— -- SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Kelvin Benjamin suffered what appeared to be a left knee injury during Wednesday's joint practice against the Miami Dolphins.

Benjamin went down when he tried to make a cut against a Miami defensive back on a play where there was no content. He stayed on the ground for several minutes before being carted off.

Benjamin led Carolina receivers in receptions with 73 for 1,008 yards and nine touchdowns in the regular season.

He was the team's first-round draft pick in 2014.

He reported to training camp in what coach Ron Rivera said was "tremendous shape" and was having a good training camp.

Carolina has already lost one wide receiver in camp when Stephen Hill suffered a torn ACL in the first week of training camp.
