Kentucky's turnaround

— -- Kentucky coach John Calipari has a reputation for his recruiting prowess. He doesn't get enough credit for his coaching ability.

He is a master motivator and teacher. This Kentucky team has really improved from earlier in the season. Wins over Wichita State, Louisville and Michigan have these youngsters in the Final Four.

It's a pretty amazing feat considering the Cats, who were ranked No. 1 in the preseason, were not ranked in the final AP top 25 poll.

I remember saying on Selection Sunday that Kentucky as a No. 8 seed was a mistake. The team proved me right.

I love the way the Harrisons are playing right now. Aaron Harrison was Mr. Clutch against the Wolverines, hitting four trifectas in the second half, including three in the final five minutes. His game-winning shot sent Lexington into a frenzy.

This team started to show something when it battled Florida to the wire in the SEC championship game. That had to give the team added confidence going into the NCAA tournament.

Kentucky presents problems to opponents due to its size. Julius Randle, Dakari Johnson and Marcus Lee will be tough to stop on the glass. Johnson and Lee have gained valuable minutes with Willie Cauley-Stein sidelined with an ankle injury.

I termed Kentucky's regular season as disappointing. The squad has made up for that during the postseason.
