— -- Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant is on course to return to the lineup this week, according to league sources.

Sources told ESPN.com that Durant, after missing the past six games with a strained left hamstring, is closing in on a return, though the specific game has not yet been chosen.

Durant was not cleared to play in Sunday night's home win over Dallas, but it's believed that either Monday night's visit to Utah or Wednesday's home game against Brooklyn is a strong possibility for his return.

Durant suffered the injury on Nov. 10 in the first half of a Thunder victory on the road against Durant's hometown Washington Wizards. It's the first hamstring injury of Durant's career after he underwent three foot surgeries last season, limiting him to 27 games.

In its six games without Durant, Oklahoma City is 3-3, with point guard  Russell Westbrook averaging 32.7 points, 9.3 assists, 7.7 rebounds and 3.2 steals per game in that span.
