— -- Washington Nationals ace Max Scherzer is perfect through six innings Sunday against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Scherzer has 11 strikeouts after striking out the side in the bottom of the sixth.

He has thrown 67 pitches. The Nationals lead the game, 4-0.

The closest that the Brewers had come to a hit was a hard bounceout up the middle by pitcher Taylor Jungmann to end the third.

Scherzer had reached base by himself more than the Brewers with a single in the fourth.

Scherzer is 6-5 with a 1.99 ERA in his first season in Washington after signing a seven-year, $210 million contract in the offseason.
