— -- The most costly games in baseball history await Chicago Cubs fans at Wrigley Field this weekend as the World Series returns to the stadium for the first time in 71 years.

The median prices of a ticket sold on reseller StubHub for games 3, 4 and 5, are $3,000, $3,650 and $3,500, respectively.

That's at least $2,000 more per ticket than what was sold for Games 1 and 2 in Cleveland, which both had $1,000 medians.

As of 11 a.m. CT, the cheapest ticket to Game 3 listed on StubHub was $2,140 each for two standing room tickets.

Buying a spot on the Wrigley rooftops overlooking Wrigley is a cheaper option, but it's hardly a bargain, with median price for a rooftop ticket hovering around $1,000 each.

The most expensive ticket purchased on StubHub for any of the three games was for a front-row seat by the Cubs bullpen. A fan bought two of them together for $19,000 each. The highest price paid for Game 4 on Saturday night was for two at $18,725 each for second-row seats behind the plate. A seat by the Cleveland Indians bullpen is currently the most costly for Game 5, as a fan paid $17,950 each for four tickets.

The per-game average does not top that of Super Bowl 50, which had a $4,512 average purchase price on StubHub.
