— -- It's time to assess the overall performances for the week. The grades are based on each individual's performance and are not against one another. We will know which of you read this intro by your comments. With the semantics out of the way, here are the final grades from the Masters:

Rory McIlroy
Grade: A-
World Ranking: No. 1
Score: 71-71-68-66 (-12)

Rory McIlroy had four rounds under par, even if the first two weren't great. Rory's weekend score was the best of his Masters career, and he matched the best round of the day on Masters Sunday, with a 66. It will be this weekend memory that could catapult him to victory here next year. Remember, this is his best finish at the Masters ever.

Henrik Stenson
Grade: B-
World Ranking: No. 2
Score: 73-73-70-68 (-4)

A very solid weekend of 70-68 showed just why the expectations for Henrik Stenson are so high. That, and he's the No. 2 player in the world still looking for his first major victory. Stenson has given himself a strong foundation going into the U.S. Open in June.

Bubba Watson
Grade: D
World Ranking: No. 3
Score: 71-71-73-74 (+1)

Shooting over par on both Saturday and Sunday after playing the first two rounds under par is a huge disappointment for Watson, especially considering he was the defending champion. He hit only 21 greens over the weekend -- not ringing excitement to anyone other than those who root against him. It's summer school for you, Mr. Watson.

Jordan Spieth
Grade: A+
World Ranking: No. 4
Score: 64-66-70-70 (-18)

Wow. Just wow. Jordan Spieth is going to No. 2 in the world with his first Masters victory, and that seems just right. The United States now has the next young gun to make a run at becoming the best in the world. What he did for four days this week will be marveled at in the years to come. It had been 39 years since someone went wire-to-wire in this event. Spieth put his name next to that of Tiger Woods, who won this event at 21 years old, and Spieth put his name above Tiger's when he got to -19 on the scorecard. Special things are coming for this young man.

Jason Day
Grade: C-
World Ranking: No. 5
Score: 67-74-71-75 (-1)

Holy inconsistency, Batman! It was almost like a different guy showed up at the course each day. After a blazing start, Jason Day had a horrible second round, then he had a mediocre third round followed by a bad final round. I think after Round 1, the pressure was just too much to handle. A 28th place finish isn't bad, but it's the worst of his career.

Adam Scott
Grade: D
World Ranking: No. 6
Score: 72-69-74-74 (+1)

This was Adam Scott's worst finish since he missed the cut in 2009. Yes, switching back and forth from the long and short putters didn't help his chances, but that wasn't the biggest issue for the former Masters champion. Scott's iron play was not up to snuff. He hit more than 11 greens on only one day out of the four. Not acceptable. Summer school for you too, Mr. Scott.

Dustin Johnson
Grade: B
World Ranking: No. 7
Score: 70-67-73-69 (-9)

In one sense, it's unbelievable that this was Dustin Johnson's best finish in the Masters and first top 10. In another sense, the three double-bogeys he put on his scorecard this week can be the epitome of why Johnson hasn't struck major gold yet. This is a new DJ, and the new DJ will be holding a major trophy in the near future, I expect. This week, he took a huge step toward that.

Jim Furyk
Grade: C+
World Ranking: No. 8
Score: 74-73 (+3)

I know he didn't get to play during the weekend, but on an extremely long golf course, Jim Furyk missed the cut by only one shot. That's proof to how well he can grind, even when there's no chance for any true success.

Sergio Garcia
Grade: B
World Ranking: No. 9
Score: 68-74-71-70 (-5)

If not for a bad second round, who knows how good the week could have been for Garcia. A top-20 finish is nothing to scoff at as we look forward to the next major of the year. Don't be surprised if he contends in a major or two later this year.

Jimmy Walker
Grade: D+
World Ranking: No. 10
Score: 73-72-74-70 (+1)

Last year was Jimmy Walker's first appearance at the Masters, and he finished tied for eighth. This year, Walker hit just less than 54 percent of his fairways and 61 percent of the greens, and he averaged more than 29 putts per round. I expected more from the man who won in San Antonio a couple weeks ago, and I'm sure he expected more from himself.

Tiger Woods
Grade: B
World Ranking: No. 111
Score: 73-69-68-73 (-5)

To think two 73s were Tiger Woods' worst scores of the week after what we saw from him leading up to this event is amazing. Tiger, when healthy, can still compete at an extremely high level, even after being gone for a while. If he's going to win major No. 15, this is the most likely place for it to happen.

Phil Mickelson
Grade: A
World Ranking: No. 22
Score: 70-68-67-69 (-14)

That A is for amazing. Phil Mickelson missed the cut here last year and finished tied for 54th the year before, so for him to come in this year not in great form shows how quickly he can get straightened out. Three straight rounds in the 60s and ... who knows ... there might still be a small light of hope for the U.S. Open this year and his completing the career grand slam.
