— -- WIMBLEDON, London -- Tickets for middle Sunday went on sale at 3pm Saturday. It was all over in just 27 minutes.

A club spokesperson confirmed to ESPN that all 22,000 available tickets were snapped up by 3.27pm, with 111,000 people trying their luck at booking through the Ticketmaster website.

Wimbledon had placed 10,000 Centre Court tickets on sale at £70 each, 8,000 on Court One for £40 each and 4,000 ground passes costing £20 per person.

The rest of the attendance will be made up by members and debenture ticket holders, with the club expecting full capacity on both Centre Court (14,979) and Court One (11,393).

Major interruptions to play on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday -- with three breaks for rain early on Saturday --  have seen Wimbledon organise play on the middle Sunday for just the fourth time, after 1991, 1997 and 2004.

Grounds will open at 8.45am on Sunday and play will start at 11.30am on all courts.

"This has been a difficult decision, but one we had to take to reduce the backlog of matches and in the interests of completing the Championships on time," All England Club chief executive Richard Lewis said.

"And as with other middle Sundays I am sure there will be a great atmosphere."

Sunday's forcast looks set to be dry but spectators will receive a full refund if there is under an hour's play, while there will be a 50 percent refund if there is more than one hour of play but less than two hours.
