— -- The Washington Nationals have acquired left fielder Ben Revere from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for reliever Drew Storen, the Nationals announced.

Revere hit .306 this past season with solid performance and speed in the leadoff spot, adding 45 RBIs and just two home runs. His defense improved with the move to left field after he struggled in center field with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2014. He had a 2.6 WAR and has an estimated salary of $6.7 million for 2016.

Storen was thought to be expendable after the Nationals acquired Jonathan Papelbon midseason to be the team's closer.
