Ndamukong Suh: Agent's call on team
— -- ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Ndamukong Suh said Wednesday that he might not be the one making the decision on where he plays after this season.
"It'll be Jimmy's decision, so we'll go with that," said the Detroit Lions defensive tackle, who has steadfastly not discussed his contract throughout the season. "You can call Jimmy."
Jimmy refers to Suh's agent, Jimmy Sexton, whom he signed with in the offseason after firing his old agency, Relativity Sports. Whenever Suh has been asked about his contract this season or even dollar amounts he might be looking for, he has been consistent in saying "Ask Jimmy."
So will Sexton be making Suh's free-agency decision?
"He probably will," Suh said. "Yep."
Depending on what happens with Suh's contract and the rest of the Lions' season, Sunday might be his final home game at Ford Field. He said it is not his decision whether that will end up being the case. Suh and the Lions halted contract talks before the start of training camp to focus on football.
He is in the final year of his rookie deal from being the No. 2 pick in the 2010 draft that averaged $12.6 million per year and had $40 million guaranteed.
If it is Suh's final home game, what does he want his legacy to be?
"I always want to play at a high level, so that's what's going to be my goal just like last week and the week before that," Suh said. "No matter where we're at, I want to play at a high level and impose my will, have teams focus on me, free other people up and at the same time make plays."
Suh has made plays for himself and his teammates this season as the Lions have the top-rated run defense in the NFL. He has 38 tackles and 5.5 sacks.
"All you have to do is turn on the film," Lions coach Jim Caldwell said. "I think everybody that plays against us can see what kind of impact he has on a ballgame.
"He's a wrecking crew that most people don't leave him alone."
