California Chrome is a win away from horse racing’s most elusive title -- the Triple Crown.

Co-owner Steve Coburn believes the colt is getting help from above. The horse shares the same birthday as Coburn’s sister, who died from cancer.

“And he was born on my sister Brenda’s birthday, Feb. 18,” Coburn said. “She died at 36 from cancer. “So I do believe this colt’s got a guardian angel with him all the time. I say a prayer before every race, and between her and him, everything’s coming true.”

It’s been 36 years since Affirmed last won the Triple Crown in 1978.
