Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue
For the 40th anniversary issue in 2004, SI named its Swimsuit Issue Hall of Fame. Veronica Varekova, a Czech supermodel who was briefly married to NHL star Peter Nedved, appeared on the cover, while Anna Kournikova, the retired Russian tennis player, appeared in a cover inset and a spread inside the magazine.
