Protests
On the day aggressive protests in Paris forced officials to extinguish the Olympic torch and carry it in a bus, protesters on this side of the Atlantic began voicing their opposition to the games, in advance of the torch's scheduled arrival stateside on Wednesday. Three people protesting China's human rights abuses climbed cables on the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Monday, April 7, 2008, and tied Tibetan flags and two banners to the structure.
