Richard Sherman moments of tennis

— -- After making the biggest play of his career, an interception to send the Seattle Seahawks to the Super Bowl, cornerback Richard Sherman kept it classy. Well, not really.

He unleashed a couple of confounding on-field interviews in which, among many things, he said, "I'm the best corner in the game. When you try me with a sorry receiver like [Michael] Crabtree, that's the result you gonna get. Don't you ever talk about me!"

And this beauty:

"I told you Crabtree was mediocre at best, so I would never let him catch a game winner on me. … This is a joke, right?"

On the heels of those fighting words, how about a look back at some memorable trash-talking moments in recent tennis times. Mind you these are in no particular order, and I'm sure there are more than a few we missed. Feel free to send those along in the comments.

Anyway, your verbal jabs:

-- Alla Kudryavtseva on Maria Sharapova's tuxedo top and shorts outfit at the 2008 Wimbledon Championships

"She begins every interview with 'I'm so happy. I'm so lucky' -- it's so boring. She's still not going to be invited to the cool parties. And, hey, if she wants to be with the guy with a black heart, go for it."

-- Serena Williams referring to Sharapova in a 2013 Rolling Stone issue

"Obviously I have a tremendous amount of respect for Serena and what she's achieved on the court. If she wants to talk about something personal, maybe she should talk about her relationship and her boyfriend … [who] was married and is getting a divorce and has kids."

-- Sharapova responding to Williams at a pre-tournament Wimbledon news conference

"The male players spent twice as long on court at Roland Garros as the women. The equality in salaries isn't something that works in sport."

-- Gilles Simon at the 2013 French Open explaining why women shouldn't get paid as much as men

"She's not said one word to me, not spoken to me, not said hi, not looked my way, not been in the same room with me since I played her in Australia."

-- Sloane Stephens on Williams after winning their quarterfinal meeting at the 2013 Australian Open

"Maybe she won the match or the tournament, but she lost a lot of respect because I don't think those kind of behavior is a good image for women's tennis. A lot of things happen on court, a lot of different situations but I think is not the level that you're doing that, this is the highest level. She is No. 1, top 10 for many years. It's not like we're not going to talk anymore, but it's good to play fair play, off the court and on the court."

-- Agnieszka Radwanska on Victoria Azarenka calling dubious timeouts after their 2012 Doha semifinal match

"Don't tell me to be quiet, OK? When I wanna talk, I talk."

-- Roger Federer lambasting umpire Jake Garner during the 2009 US Open final

"It really is a shame that a great tennis nation like the Czech is represented by someone like him."

-- Janko Tipsarevic on Radek Stepanek after a marathon 2012 Davis Cup match

"She's probably been injured more than any other player and yet is able to be No. 1 in the world. Last year she, I think, had more retirements than anyone but was still able to play a full schedule. A few days after retiring from an event, she was practicing at the next tournament. It's pretty tough to know what her state is and how she's feeling."

-- Maria Sharapova on Victoria Azarenka after 2012 Stuttgart final

"It's difficult when you play against someone on the court like he is not well or injured. I find no one does this better than Murray. Sometimes he looks like he can barely move, then comes the trainer and he moves like a cat. I believe everyone knows this. People talk about it in the locker room. Maybe he would like to take some pressure off himself. He tells himself, 'Maybe I have a niggle or a problem, I'm not feeling too well but I'm going to try it anyway.' But he is such a talented player that he does not need to."

-- Tommy Haas on Andy Murray in a 2012 interview with Germany's Sport1 television

"F--- USTA! They're full of s---! They have screwed me for the last time!"

-- Donald Young ripping the USTA on Twitter after he failed to receive a wild card into the 2011 French Open

"Inside the court you really feel like killing him. He can be the best player in the world and win every tournament, but he cannot behave the way he does. He was abusing the captain, abusing the other players, abusing everybody. Lleyton cheers for other people's mistakes and is very aggressive. It is very difficult not to feel provoked. But as a person, I would rather not win a single tournament than be like Lleyton."

-- Guillermo Coria on Lleyton Hewitt during the 2005 Davis Cup quarterfinals

If I could, I would take this f------ ball and shove it down your f------ throat."

-- Serena Williams cursing out a line judge at the 2009 US Open

"For him it's good to say nothing. Everything positive. 'It's all well and good for me, I look like a gentleman,' and the rest can burn themselves."

-- Rafael Nadal on Roger Federer, who according to the Spaniard, doesn't align himself with the players when it comes to tennis reform
