Croatia Ends Cameroon's World Cup Hopes in 4-0 Shellacking

Cameroon and Spain eliminated from contention today.

— -- Spain lost to Chile today in a do-or-die game in Rio on Day 7 of the 2014 World Cup. The loss eliminated the defending champions from the tournament.

Earlier in the day, the Netherlands defeated Australia 3-2 to clinch a spot to the knockout phase.

Croatia also eliminated Cameroon from the tournament in a 4-0 shellacking.

The World Cup features 32 nations -- placed in eight groups with four teams apiece -- and a total of 64 games. The United States has qualified for its seventh straight World Cup and will be looking to get out of a challenging group that features Germany, Portugal and Ghana.
