Simone Manuel arrives home and celebrates her medals with donuts

— -- It is a company's dream. A marketable Olympian comes home and the first thing she says she wants is your product.
That dream came true for Shipley Do-Nuts when swimmer Simone Manuel arrived home on Wednesday.
The swimmer, who won two gold and two silver medals at the Rio Games, told the ABC affiliate in Houston that her first task was to get Shipley donuts.
Three hours later, Manuel came through on yet another goal -- a Shipley Do-Nut in her hand.
When asked if it was competitor Krispy Kreme, Manuel gave the brand another pop by showing the box.
Shipley did its part and responded to the tweet.
Shipley has more than 250 franchises in seven states and four stores in Sugar Land, Texas, where Manuel is from.
