— -- An ESPN desk used on more than 32,000 shows over the last decade, mostly on SportsCenter, sold for $26,100 on Wednesday night.

The item was the star of The V Foundation auction, which also included an opportunity to spend a day in Bristol with ESPN Radio hosts Scott Van Pelt and Ryen Russillo ($19,100) and an appearance in Bill Simmons and Jalen Rose's NBA preview on Grantland ($8,250).

The desk, which was put into retirement as a result of the studio shows moving to the new digital center in the company's Bristol, Connecticut headquarters, includes all the monitors and electrical wiring to make it fully functional.

Money raised from items will be given to The V Foundation, which was started by ESPN and the late N.C. State basketball coach Jim Valvano following his memorable "Never Give Up" speech at the 1993 ESPY Awards. Since it's founding, more than $115 million has been raised in the fight against cancer.
