— -- Investigators say the stabbings of at least three people in a parking lot at the Denver Broncos' stadium after Thursday night's game stemmed from a fight over a near fender bender.

Police spokesman Steve Warneke said officers were called to a "very chaotic" scene just before 10 p.m. MT and found three males suffering from non-life-threatening stab wounds. A fourth may have been stabbed, but that person had left.

Warneke said one man was initially in critical condition but all were conscious and talking.

Three people were taken into custody, and two were released pending further investigation. Warneke said 29-year-old Justin Lee Manzanares is being held for investigation of assault charges.

Police say Manzanares pulled a knife from a sheath he was wearing on his belt and cut or stabbed all three people. They say the fight started after Manzanares pulled out of a parking space and nearly hit the victims' vehicle.

The Denver Post reports there were multiple eyewitnesses.

Police said the incident was called in at 9:55 p.m. and that officers responded to a large fight in Lot F at Sports Authority Field.

Warneke said police didn't know whether the men had attended the game.

Stadium Management Company said in an emailed statement that it is "aware of an incident that occurred in a parking lot adjacent to Sports Authority Field at Mile High" and it is working with authorities.

The Broncos lost 27-20 to the San Diego Chargers.

The stabbings are the latest of several recent incidents involving fans at football games.

Earlier this month in Kansas City, Mo., a man died after an altercation in an Arrowhead Stadium parking lot during the Chiefs' game against the Broncos.

In September in San Francisco, a teenage fan suffered a concussion and a broken arm and nose at Candlestick Park after police say he was attacked during the 49ers' game against Indianapolis.
