— -- Tennessee Titans linebacker David Bass was fined $17,363 for a hit that left New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees requiring stitches on Sunday, a league source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Bass received a roughing-the-passer penalty on the play, and Brees later said his jaw swelled up to the size of a lemon.

On Wednesday, Brees stressed that "I'm fine" and pointed out that the Saints benefited from the hit early in the fourth quarter.

After Bass' hit drew a flag, Titans linebacker Brian Orakpo drew two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties for his volatile argument with the officials over the penalty. The Saints scored a touchdown two plays later to take an eight-point lead. But it didn't last, as the Titans defeated the Saints 34-28 in overtime.

"Listen, that's a part of the game sometimes," said Brees, who said he didn't have time to get stitches until after the game. "At that point, I don't know what it looks like, I'm just focused on playing the game."
