— -- The Williams sisters are in championship form at the 2016 US Open. Both earned wins over the weekend and, if their winning streaks continue, the two could face off in the semi-finals.

Serena, 34, notched her 307th career Grand Slam singles victory when she beat Sweden's Johanna Larsson on Saturday. The world number one set the record for most ever singles victories in a Grand Slam tournament by a woman. She tied Roger Federer's record for most career singles wins in a Grand Slam tournament by any player.

After the historic win Serena said she just wants to keep the streak going.

Bouncing back from an upsetting loss at the Rio Olympic games and a recent shoulder injury, Serena said she feels like Wonder Woman playing the U.S. Open in hot pink compression sleeves for day matches and black ones for night sessions.

The younger Williams sister has raised the U.S. Open trophy in victory a total of six times. If she can do it again this year, the Wimbledon champion would add a record-breaking 23rd Grand Slam title next to her name.

The one opponent set to face Serena if her winning play continues, her sister Venus.

Sixth seeded Venus, 36, crushed her German opponent Laura Siegemund in straight sets on Saturday and fed off the momentum she gained on the court.

"When I got that match point I rode it all the way home," said the elder Williams sister after her win.

The superstar siblings have advanced to the round of 16 after strong wins on Saturday. The enduring symbols of American women's tennis could potentially face off in the semi-final if they both earn wins in their fourth-round and quarter-final round matches.

The dynamic sister duo first appeared at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, Queens in 1997 for a doubles match on Arthur Ashe Kids' Day -- an exhibition match before the Open officially began. Nineteen years later, they've become regulars competing for the title on the main court at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
