TechBytes: Connecting with Kinect

July 21, 2010— -- Microsoft says its new motion-sensing game controller The Kinect will cost $150 when it goes on sale Nov. 4. The Kinect system recognizes users' gestures and voices, so you can control games simply by moving or speaking. The system will come packaged with one game.

A new iPad app launching today lets you publish your life into a glossy magazine. Flipboard pulls from your Facebook and Twitter accounts, and uses the information to create an electronic magazine. Flipboard's creators hope it will be a more creative way for us to keep up with friends and family. The Wall Street Journal's Katie Boehret also gave it a try.

"The most outstanding thing about this is that the magazine is very artistic looking. The pages look like pages you can actually turn, as you swipe with your finger. It looks like the page is actually creasing in the middle, flipping over," Boehret said. "A lot of thought went into the design that you're actually seeing in your personal magazine."
