Google in talks to add streaming movies to YouTube.

Aug. 30, 2010— -- YouTube is ready to go Hollywood. The Financial Times reports Google is in talks with major studios about adding streaming movies to YouTube . The movies would be available on a pay-per-view basis, with newer releases costing about $5 each. The service would put YouTube in direct competition with Apple, Netflix and Hulu.

The authoritative guide to the English language may soon only be available online. The publisher of the 126-year-old Oxford English Dictionary says the next edition may not be printed on paper at all. The dictionary's website now gets two million hits a month from subscribers. The 20 volume print edition, published in 1989, has only sold about 30,000 sets.
