The only giant panda born in a U.S. zoo this year is a male, Zoo Atlanta officials said this week. The cub was born Nov. 3, but the gender was determined during an exam by the zoo's veterinary team and a colleague from the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in China.
