Haiti Earthquake: Why So Much Damage?

Everything went wrong in the great Haitian earthquake -- massive poverty, poor construction of buildings and the proximity of the epicenter to the crowded city of Port-au-Prince. But there was also this: The center of the earthquake, the spot from which vibrations came, was only nine miles below the surface.
