New research on cremation burials shows that Stonehenge was used for more than 500 years as a cemetery. The burials were initially uncovered in a pit around Stonehenge's edge and in the nearby ditch surrounding the monument. The research is the subject of a global television premiere documentary June 1 on the National Geographic Channel. (©2008 Adam Stanford/National Geographic)
