— -- Facebook Live -- a video broadcasting product used around the world -- reached a new frontier today when CEO Mark Zuckerberg chatted with astronauts at the International Space Station.

Zuckerberg, 32, spent 20 minutes broadcasting a live video interview with American astronauts Tim Kopra and Jeff Williams and British astronaut Tim Peake while as many as 150,000 people watched the broadcast live and chimed in with questions for the trio.

Even the billionaire CEO couldn't help but geek out during the first-ever Facebook Live broadcast to space, marveling as the microphone floated between the astronauts in the micro-gravity environment.

"That is not something I'm even used too!" Zuckerberg said, adding that the floating microphone reminded him a lot of the experiences created in virtual reality.

During the 20-minute chat, Zuckerberg took some questions from participants and chatted with the astronauts about how they use social media to stay close to family and share their experiences.

"Social media is a really nice way to reach your friends and family from here, and our internet connection is a relatively new thing so we're very happy to have that," Kopra said. "It’s not quite the same speed folks have on the ground but it’s good enough."
