#GiveTwitterASlogan: Funniest Ways People Define the Social Network

Popular hashtag asks people to give Twitter a slogan.

— -- How would you describe Twitter to someone who doesn't know what it is?

A popular new hashtag #GiveTwitterASlogan picked up steam today -- and people are giving it their best to come up with a slogan for the social network in 140 characters or less.

The meta hashtag comes as Twitter today announced it would be laying off 336 people -- approximately 8 percent of its work force -- in order to put the company on a "stronger path to grow." Having taken over as CEO earlier this month, co-founder Jack Dorsey faces the challenge of making Twitter more approachable and engaging for new users.
