If a large asteroid was to hit Earth, scientists believe it would create a crater like this one in northern Siberia. This is the world's largest meteorite crater measuring approximately 75 miles in diameter. A team of international scientists visited the crater in 1999. They traveled deeper into the crater by way of a raft on the river that now runs through the crater. (Geoffrey Notkin/ Aerolite Meteorites)
