This part of Victoria crater was nicknamed Cape Verde. Scientists wanted to sample it closely, but decided not to chance it because, after years in the Martian cold, the rover was showing signs of wear. "We are not going to do a leisurely tour of this crater," said Steve Squyres, the principal investigator, "because our days are numbered." (NASA)
