While Eckert now shoots primarily in a backyard studio, he did much of his early work on the streets of San Francisco, wandering the city's neighborhoods late into the night. Of course, Eckert isn't your typical photographer. In his spare time, he rides motorcycles and practices tae kwon do, in which he holds a first-degree black belt.
