Before she became an exhibited photographer, Rosita McKenzie dedicated her life to championing the cause of the disabled, serving as an advisor to several organizations on disability-related issues. The Edinburgh resident began photography at the encouragement of one of her advisees, Paul Nesbitt, director of Edinburgh's Royal Botanic Garden's Inverleigh House. "Rosita has convinced me that blind people have images inside their head," Nesbitt said. (© by the artist, courtesy of UCR/California Museum of Photography)
