Officer John Pike: Pepper-Spraying Meme

After photos surfaced of UC Davis Police Lt. John Pike pepper spraying Occupy UC Davis protestors on campus on Nov. 18, the Internet exploded with memes of the officer, pepper spray in hand, photo-shopped into dozens of famous and historically significant paintings and photographs. Shown here in artist Thomas Eakins' painting, "The Gross Clinic," Pike seems to pepper spray the surgeon in the face.
