September 1, 2011— -- In today's TechBytes, it's happened again. An Apple employee reportedly lost an iPhone 5 prototype in a bar.

Apple tried to recover it, and couldn't.

The merger between T-Mobile and AT&T has hit a major stumbling block.

The Justice Department says the deal would result in higher prices and fewer choices for consumers.

Sony has unveiled its first tablet devices, the S and the P.

What sets them apart is their design, especially the P, which features two screens and folds like a clamshell.

Sam Grobart of the New York Times wonders if it's too radical.

"The only issue might be that it gets stuck kind of in between two categories. It's either too small and sort of odd for a tablet, or too big compared to a smartphone. On the other hand, it might be like Goldilocks in that it's just right. In which case, people may love it," says Grobart.

Sony's CEO says his company's advantage over Apple is that Sony also makes movies, music and games.
