Facebook Suicide Prevention

If you see what you think are suicidal comments in a friend's Facebook messages, you can now alert Facebook.

If reviewers agree, the friend will get an email, offering counseling, by phone or chat.

Twitter's New Features

Twitter's new features include notices when your name is mentioned and stories tailored to your interest.

The Wall Street Journal's Katie Boehret says Twitter is also making it easier for new users to get involved.

"They can take you to a section called 'browse interests,' and you can see all sorts of categories and things that you like," she said. "Like, if you like music, it will suggest different people you can follow."

Twitter has been growing rapidly since it became part of Apple's new mobile operating system in October.
