Google One Pass, Monopoly Live and 'Jeopardy!' Challenge

Google fires back at Apple's subscription service.

Feb. 17, 2011— -- Google has fired back at Apple's new online subscription service. Google introduced One Pass one day after Apple offered customers a new way to buy digital magazines and newspapers.

One Pass allows users to buy publications on the Web and through mobile apps. The service also allows users to access content on several devices.

The classic board game Monopoly is getting a computerized twist. Monopoly Live, Hasbro's latest venture, was unveiled at this week's Toy Fair in New York.

It features a "Tower of Power" that serves as an electronic control center for the game; keeping track of your moves, your money and delivering instructions. The new game will hit shelves in the fall but the original will remain on sale.

Man was no match for machine on 'Jeopardy!' IBM's supercomputer Watson blew away Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter in the final day of their competition. The computer managed to nearly double its competitors' combined score. Next up for Watson: Helping doctors sort through medical research.
