In today's TechBytes, iPads take flight. Alaska Airlines now has permission from the Federal Aviation Administration to ditch those big paper printouts -- flight manuals -- for each flight and instead put the data on iPads. Those hard copy flight manuals can weigh as much as 25 pounds. The airline is also exploring other ways to save paper and put the flight charts on iPads, too.

E-Commerce Giant Opens Furniture Showroom

Online retailer Taobao has opened a furniture showroom in Beijing, where customers can try out sofas, tables and other furnishings before placing an order online. Online commerce in China is expected to grow 30 percent to 40 percent in the next few years.
