Reportedly Abducted Boy Found Dead in Sump

A 9-year-old boy was found dead in a sump, hours after a friend claimed the child had been abducted while playing outside his home, in Bakersfield, Calif., police said. An Amber Alert was issued, along with a description of a suspect, based on the story the missing boy's friend told, but after the allegedly kidnapped child, Zane Newton, was found, police said they do not believe he was abducted at all.
