Feb 1., 2009 -- John Updike, 76 -- Pulitzer Prize-winning writer. Best known for his "Rabbit" novels, Updike authored books, poems and essays capturing the lyricism of small town, middle-class America.

James Brady, 80 -- Parade magazine celebrity columnist.

Billy Powell, 56 -- Keyboardist, Lynyrd Skynyrd.
